The first championship victory for Armando Pontone arrives. The Cassinate rider on the Yamaha R6, after finishing third at Mugello on his debut, took home the second round of the National Trophy 600 staged yesterday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

The race -

An extraordinary race that led by the class of '92, very good at resisting the pace imposed by Matteo Ciprietti and then achieving the decisive overtaking during the last lap. On the podium of the 600 also Marco Marcheluzzo and Alessio Finello, respectively third and fourth overall. «I will carry this success inside me for a long time - commented“ Pontonix ”- because I did better even than the big SuperOpen that are in the standings apart. This is thanks to the painstaking work carried out together with the Bike & Motor Team which I sincerely thank ». All focused on one aspect in particular: «We did not aim for the fastest lap, but rather thinking about the race pace that could have put us in a position to contend for primacy with the big SuperOpen. Up to 20 minutes before departure, I held meetings with my staff to make changes to the set-up level on the bike. The results obtained have repaid us for the great effort made ». With the most beautiful joy coming to the end of a thrilling race: "I had to grit my teeth - Armando Pontone's analysis - because Ciprietti's Ducati on the straight was obviously faster. I was fully aware that if I lost even a single second, then it would be difficult to recover. But I've always believed in it and the decisive sprint arrived at the last step. Doing well in the presence of such strong opponents was not taken for granted. I'm proud of myself".

A meticulous preparation -

Important and well-deserved satisfaction, which has become a reality thanks to an impeccable preparation that has been going on for months now: «With the athletic trainer, Giorgio Bonfigli, we are carrying out a very specific program that requires considerable sacrifices. The last two weeks have been really hard, also because then I have to combine the physical side with adequate nutrition, following the professional instructions of my nutritionist to the letter. All indispensable figures, on a par with Motorsport Italy and the companies that are supporting me. It is to them that I extend my heartfelt thanks ».

The special dedication and the many messages received -

The first place in Misano, however, had a special dedication: "My girlfriend's love is incredible and unconditional. This victory also bears her fundamental stamp. And it is to her that I dedicate it, like my family that supports me everywhere and in any case. During these days, Salvatore Polselli was also very close to me and I would like to thank him from my heart ».

Lots of messages received on social media after the triumph. Certificates of esteem that are pleasing: «I'm very happy, I have Instagram and Facebook full of notifications. I hope to continue on this path and to give other beautiful emotions ». Next round on 3 and 4 July in Imola.
