17.05.2021 - Not just rallies, not just Rally di Roma Capitale and not just great champions. Motorsport Italia believes in young people and the results of the weekend just ended confirm that the challenge of differentiating support for the most disparate categories of motorsport by working on the nursery has once again been guessed by Max Rendina and his staff. A double great success has in fact rewarded Armando Pontone on two wheels and Damiano Sapio on karts.
Pontone, engaged at the Misano World Circuit in the second round of the National Trophy 600, included in the competitions of the Italian Speed Championship with the Yamaha of the Franco Mancini 2000 Motoclub, scored a weekend at the film library by signing the pole position and the victory in both races . The rider from Ciociaria, born in 1992, shone in all his talent by setting Ciprietti's Ducati Panigale V2 at the finish line and at this point confirming himself as a rider to be absolutely taken into consideration for the title fight. The scenes on the finish line of race two were exciting, when the men from his garage looked out over the wall, exulting with great enthusiasm the well-deserved success.
Equally important satisfactions were those that Motorsport Italia collected on the Artena track, where the fifth round of the ACI Lazio Karting Regional Championship was staged. The very young Damiano Sapio, born in 2004, got all behind in the KZN Junior (125cc) challenge at the wheel of his number 4 BRM chassis kart, achieving the best result of the season in a race that, on paper and on the track, was confirmed technical and particularly demanding. A result that rewards Sapio's perseverance and determination, which in the end won it with a very significant margin, almost 5 seconds, over the rest of the group.
