After having obtained the two FIA stars as part of the FIA ​​Environmental Accreditation Program, Max Rendina and the  do not stop the green attention that revolves around the event, but are preparing instead for an edition where awareness of respect for the environment will be further encouraged.

 

There is perhaps no discipline that more than the rally touches the territorial and environmental context that hosts not only the special stages but all the most sensitive moments of the rally: from start to finish, from the service park to the Headquarters. The staff of Motorsport Italia, which already in the previous editions of the Capitoline event which this year will take place from 22 to 25 July, has always paid great attention to the green aspects of their work and so it will be this year too. As part of this delicate balance, the Rally di Roma Capitale will set up an ecological area in the center of Fiuggi similar to a collection center where the teams, participants and visitors will be able to sort their waste. A corner will also be available for the collection of waste oils.

 

All service cars will be powered with hybrid and full-electric propulsion. A courageous choice that continues the experimentation carried out two years ago in Ostia where scooters and electric scooters were used to move around the rally village. The sporting part of the event is often mistakenly considered to be the most polluting, but the volume of traffic generated between enthusiasts, staff and service cars is certainly greater. This choice will certainly contribute to lowering the polluting potential of the Rally di Roma Capitale as it has never been done before. Even the service cars, the staff and security personnel (tow trucks, ambulances, etc.) will be equipped with the free and certified "Andreucci Co-Drive" application which allows more careful driving even on the road every day, allowing a traffic less impacting from an environmental point of view since by predicting the road in question, it allows the motorist to drive the vehicle in a more linear way. The Motorsport Italia staff also suggests it to all drivers for reconnaissance.

 

The route has also been redesigned to limit transfer mileage and therefore CO2 emissions during the rally. The long journey from Fiuggi to Rome will be guaranteed by Motorsport Italia by car transporters with 10 cars each to significantly contain the movement to and from the capital at that particular moment of the race. To allow greater involvement of the territory and, at the same time, a lower expenditure of energy for travel, almost all the stakeholders involved in the organization of the event are Italian and as much as possible local.

 

An equally important aspect will be that aimed at raising the awareness of competitors, teams and enthusiasts towards simple behaviors that have as their fulcrum the respect and protection of the host territories. Specific separate collection areas will be set up at the two Service Parks in Fiuggi to increase the virtuous aspect of waste collection. The same system will also be adopted at the start and at the end of each special test, where the service staff and any enthusiasts present will be able to differentiate their waste avoiding both to dispose of it incorrectly and to abandon it uncivilely on the path. At the end of the stage, the crews will be made available, in anticipation of the great heat, of Acqua Fiuggi tetrapack bricks that will completely replace the plastic bottles, while the tape that will be used for the safety set-up on the special stages will be biodegradable. The car wash will not be set up to wash the racing cars before entering the Service Park, given that since it is not a land race there is no real need and this will allow a significant reduction in water waste.

 

All these aspects will be followed by an Environmental Manager identified by the organizer, a figure introduced for the first time, who will also verify another long series of aspects, such as the management of catering in the Service Park which will all have to work with plastic-free materials.

 

"The relationship of the rally with its territory is increasingly delicate and fundamental - commented Max Rendina, patron of the Rally di Roma Capitale - and for this reason all these aspects which to many seem secondary to the mere sporting part, instead become central in all the organization, logistics and communication activities of the race. The FIA ​​has long started the environmental accreditation program precisely to allow on the one hand a recognized standard among all FIA internationally titled races, on the other to accustom the organizers , pilots, teams and fans of behavior
