With the confirmation of the FIA European Rally Championship 2022 calendar after the handover between Eurosport and WRC Promoter, Max Rendina and Motorsport Italia formalize the date of the Rally di Roma Capitale 2022 which, following also the ACI Sport meeting with the rally organizers, will continue on the traditional date and will take place from 21 to 24 July.

It will be an important edition given that it will sanction the first decade of the Capitoline race, whose adventure began in 2012. In ten years the event has become one of the most popular races in Europe thanks not only to the indisputable and incomparable setting offered by the city of Rome but also thanks to a technical path, tough, difficult to interpret which, on balance, is often a crucial result in the alchemy of the championships both for the Italian Rally Championship and for the FIA European Rally Championship.

The 2022 edition will mark a real watershed in the history of the event both for the tenth anniversary and for other reasons. As mentioned, after five editions (2017-2021) valid for the European Championship managed by Eurosport, starting from next season the continental series will be managed by WRC Promoter, the same group that is at the base of the World Rally Championship. This new course will certainly bring innovations, such as the previously announced live streaming which will also guarantee All Live coverage with all live tests, renamed ERC +, to the European races.

In the same way, the tricolor validity also provides some news, given that the CIR will become the CIAR Italian Rally Absolute Championship, it will run only on asphalt and the Rally di Roma Capitale will be the fifth round.

"We keep our traditional summer date and the titles FIA ERC and CIAR Sparco - commented Max Rendina - for an edition full of novelties. It seems like yesterday when we started this exciting sporting adventure, yet 10 years have already passed, full of satisfaction, commitment and success. We are working to continue in this important positive streak to guarantee all the visibility it will need at the Rally di Roma Capitale number 10 ”.
