10 crews ready to challenge each other in the series that launches the very young and which will also compete in the tenth edition of the Rally di Roma Capitale. Motorsport Italia again alongside ACI Sport, ACI Team Italia, Pirelli, Renault and Sparco.
The 10 crews that will take part in the Italian Absolute Rally Junior 2022 Championship were presented today in Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome. The series dedicated to young people developed by Automobile Club d'Italia and ACI Sport which will have Motorsport Italia as technical partner and this year will make use of the collaboration of Pirelli, Renault and Sparco. The cars that will be used by the drivers will be the brand new Renault Clio Rally5. At the same time, Motorsport Italia also previewed the tenth edition of the Rally di Roma Capitale.

The Italian Junior Rally Absolute Championship this year will consist of a calendar of six events, four on asphalt and two on gravel. The first round will be the Rallye Sanremo with its technical special stages that have hosted the World Championship for years; we will then continue with the two dirt events, the Rally dell'Adriatico which this year will change its face by moving to Urbino and the Rally of San Marino, a historic event in the Italian calendar. Second half of the season with the Rally di Roma Capitale, which will allow the drivers to compete with the FIA ​​European Rally Championship and close with the Rally 1000 Miglia and the Rally Due Valli, the latter with a coefficient of 1.5.
 
The big news of the 2022 season will obviously be the car, as the ten crews will tackle the championship aboard as many Pirelli-fitted Renault Clio Rally5s. The Milanese company has developed and evolved two asphalt choices for this series, the PZero RA and the Cinturato RWB and the Scorpion K for dirt. These are tires capable of ensuring performance and grip in all conditions.
 
Powered by a 1.3cc turbo engine capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, the French berlinettas promise to deliver a great show on both dirt and asphalt. Crucial attention also to safety, given that the cars will be fitted with the new Sparco "MASTER" seat of the latest generation, developed and produced by Sparco in compliance with the new FIA 8855-2021 homologation standards and capable of meeting the safety requirements of the driver. very similar to those guaranteed by the seats installed on Rally1 cars. The safety equipment is completed by the FIA ​​8853-2016 approved Sparco Prime H-9 EVO belts with aluminum buckle to ensure maximum lightness.
 
Thanks also to the triple collaboration between ACI Sport, Pirelli and Renault, the winner of the 2022 season will also have the opportunity to participate in 6 rounds of the 2023 European Championship, again as a representative of ACI Team Italia, but on a totally international stage.
 
The collaboration of the ACI Sport Michele Alboreto Federal School, which celebrates its first forty years this year, will also be important. Always at the forefront of preparing, tutoring and accompanying the growth of young talents in every sector of motorsport, the School directed by Raffaele Giammaria will organize a series of extra test sessions to allow the protagonists of the series to increase their respective skills. also in the preparatory phase and not only during the race.
