The Rally di Roma Capitale celebrates its first 10 years: the 2022 edition scheduled for July 22 to 24 has been presented
The tenth edition of the Rally di Roma Capitale was presented this morning in the Campidoglio, in the Sala Laudato Si, the event organized by Max Rendina and Motorsport Italia scheduled from 22 to 24 July as the only event in Italy with dual sporting validity for both the FIA European Rally Championship and the Sparco Absolute Italian Rally Championship.
Present were the Councilor for Major Events of Rome Capital Alessandro Onorato, the Director for Automotive Sports of ACI Marco Ferrari, the President's Delegate for Sport for the Lazio Region Roberto Tavani, the Regional Councilor Pasquale Ciacciarelli the President of the Automobile Club Rome Giuseppina Fusco and Max Rendina, creator of the Rally di Roma Capitale.
During the press conference, the Director of the FIA Rally Department Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile Andrew Wheatley, the President of CONI Giovanni Malagò and the President of the Automobile Club of Italy also intervened with a video message, Eng. Angelo Sticchi Damiani
Race Director Gianluca Marotta spoke from the audience, the President of the Peter Pan Association Roberto Mainiero once again alongside the event and Bruno De Pianto Team Manager Motorsport Italy who outlined the route and program of the event.
The 2022 edition of the Rally di Roma Capitale will be absolutely not to be missed with a long series of side activities aimed at reinforcing the spectacular aspect of the sporting event. The event strengthened the centrality of Rome within the program, while confirming Fiuggi as the technical headquarters. The great happening will experience its fulcrum on Friday 22 July with the extraordinary departure from Castel Sant’Angelo at 7.00 pm. All the cars will then face the Rome Parade, a walk through the center of the Eternal City which in recent years has become the great added value of the event, garnering enthusiastic approvals from all over the world.
After this dazzling start, the first big surprise, the Show at the Colosseum which will finally turn the spotlight on competition with the setting up of an exclusive VIP Lounge branded Rally di Roma Capitale. In the Colle Oppio area, the skilled hand of Motorsport Italia technicians has designed a spectacular and evocative route, which follows in the footsteps of the great success of the Terme di Caracalla that characterized the last edition. In front of the Colosseum, the monument par excellence that represents Rome in the world, the Rally di Roma Capitale will ideally celebrate these first 10 years of passion, success and racing.
Stories of passion that are intertwined at the Rally di Roma Capitale thanks to partners of great depth such as Sparco, who designed a wonderful line of Sparco Teamwear to dress all the staff of the event. High level partnerships also with Audi and Lamborghini, which together with Peugeot will make the staff cars available, in addition to the close collaboration with Renault, close to Motorsport Italia also as supplier of the cars of the Italian Rally Junior Championship.
To facilitate access to Castel Sant'Angelo and above all to the test of the Colosseum, named after ACI Rome in the year in which the Authority celebrates its centenary, Motorsport Italia will encourage the use of the underground line managed by ATAC, this partner year of the event. The event staff, the media following the race and the curious will be able to use the line that stops right at the Colosseum, a stone's throw from the show rehearsal.
This initiative is also part of an important attention to sustainability that has allowed the Rally di Roma Capitale to obtain two stars within the FIA Environmental Accreditation Program. During the event Motorsport Italia will implement the attentions with separate collection activities in each area of the race, the disposal of hazardous waste according to specific standards, the use of electric or hybrid service cars and, precisely, the incentive the use of public mobility for travel to and from Rome's historic center.
In this sense there will also be a substantial collaboration with the MIIPAF Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies. On the occasion of the show rehearsal at the Colosseum and upon the arrival of Fiuggi, corners will be set up where you can taste blue fish. On the one hand, a movement to promote the nutritional properties of blue fish, on the other to emphasize how the consumption of local products that do not require transport and handling costs allows a slow lifestyle capable of helping the environmental aspect, never as central as in this period.
